School has been hectic and I hardy have the time to make refreshing fruit smoothies. Well, it's time to get back into smoothie mode.
One of my favorite fruits here on Oahu is pineapple. I love to include pineapple (and coconut) in most of my recipes but I try not to get too carried away. This recipe is perfect for the upcoming hot, sun shiney days and includes ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store. To make this smoothie extra special I added chia seeds. It's simple, refreshing and will be your go to cold drink!
Banana Chia Seed Smoothie
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup almond milk
- 3/4 cup shredded coconut
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more liquid if too thick.
- Pour smoothie into cups and sprinkle with shredded coconut and chia seeds, if desired. Serve cold and enjoy!
