With my fall soccer season in full swing, I am creating some delicious smoothie combinations on the weekends! One of my favorite combos includes kale or spinach-- I love the greens! This weekend I made this delicious superfood smoothie and it's full of antioxidants, vitamins and protein from all the berries, kale and almond butter.
There are two ways I like my smoothies-- to drink or to eat with granola.
Banana Berry Kale Smoothie
- 1 banana, large
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 cup kale, stemmed and chopped
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 heaping tablespoons almond butter (or your favorite nut butter-- I used Barney Almond Butter)
- In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. Add more water, if needed.
- Top with your favorite fruit and granola and enjoy!
